I promised in my last post that I'd put up a picture of the handmade beaded rhinoceros head I bought at the Saturday craft market in Maputo. Here it is. Ugly or beautiful?
I bought a small beaded elephant, similar to this but quite tiny, as part of a Secret Santa present for a colleague at the Slipway local crafts market. I really like the wire and bead style!
Welcome one-and-all to my blog. For the next year I will be working with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) based in Kampala, Uganda as a telecommunications consultant. I am working with the WFP as part of a Vodafone-WFP partnership programme called the "World of Difference".
My home (which I have bid farewell for now) is Sydney, a beautiful city on the east coast of Australia famed for its iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge (aka "The Coathanger").
I will be blogging about my time in East Africa here and I'm hoping to share snippets of life in my new surrounds working for an organisation whose mission is to reduce hunger on planet Earth.
Cool! Just don't bring home a real one! Def a very unique piece for your wall.
